This raw chocolate pudding became my instant favorite the second I tried it! And it is just as quick as making an instant pudding from the box, except much more yummy! It is no secret that I have a sweet tooth since the day I was born, more or less. In the effort to eat healthy, I try to find different ways of still eating something delicious without sacrificing the sweetness! This pudding is a prime example of that!
This is the basic recipe for the raw chocolate pudding, which can also be easily made vegan, and you can add spices and garnishes to fit your mood and liking. It is very simple and easy! I even tested it on my boyfriend without telling him what was in it and he was none the wiser! 😉 So make it for the family and I promise the kids will love it just as much!
Raw Chocolate Pudding:
1 avocado, ripe and cleaned
1 banana, peeled
3-4 tablespoons of cacoa /cocoa powder
2 tablespoons of Grade B pure maple syrup or another sweetener
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Spices to preference (cinnamon, orange zest/juice, cayenne pepper, etc.)
1/2 cup of water (or a nut milk) or more for desired consistency
Fruit and nuts for garnish
Blend all ingredients in blender until creamy.Make sure to scrape everything from the sides to incorporate fully. Add more water/milk as needed for desired consistency. Taste for sweetness and flavor and make adjustments accordingly. Chill it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before serving and garnish with fruit and nuts of choice. It can be eaten at room temperature. If there are any leftovers, keep it in the fridge for a couple of days, but I doubt you will have to! 😉
